our circles…

dogeared jewels with circular symbols– suns, moons, karma rings, and more. our classics; evergreen, and forever.

what we love about circles is how they strike a balance between strength and simplicity. infinite, and always flowing to connect.

these past months have put the spotlight on connections in our lives. the people we can always call, the people who know they can always call us… the people we can be ourselves with. the circles we belong to, our family circles, work circles, school circles… our communities on the whole. expansion of our minds, our hearts and our circles.

for us, each day, it’s the dogeared jewelry that you, our circle connect to. that’s what keeps us flowing and in our good space. the daily reminders that all will be well, and that in our circles and with our circles, we can create everything.

lots of love, always

daily reminders— by marcia maizel clarke/founder of dogeared

in this global re set, it’s all about the discovery, the learning and being as present as possible to whatever jumps into our view. putting our best selves out there is what makes the communities we live in and the world at large heal.

daily routines have been mixed, so anything that has a bit of routine to it, gets investigated and a decision is made whether it serves me in this new “new,” or whether it’s something to say so long to.

routines that i am keeping, and feel so grateful to…
walking every morning. meditating and chanting every day. pulling my angel cards and connecting to more than me before my feet hit the floor to get out of bed. all daily reminders that keep me present, peaceful and healthy.

getting dressed has become something new too, this suits me very well right now— which caftan, which sweat pants, which necklaces to choose to wear (having the beauty of 30 years of dogeared necklaces to choose from is a true gift).

should it be my heart necklace? should it be my friend necklace? or should i layer a bunch of necklaces—
each necklace serving as a meaningful reminder of what they stand for—and at dogeared we have stood, fallen and everything in between. we have been human, and our journey has not been a straight line—but it’s been ours, and as i put those necklaces on, and wear them either alone or together, i get to be reminded of my life, and my path.

as we work on what gets to come forward, find your daily reminders—whether it be a necklace, a chant, a walk or … the reminders that find the lens of being grateful, and purposeful and doing all of it in the spirit of joy.

with much love,

marcia

every pearl has a story…

Pearls of...i remember my first pearls—from my grandpa’s pawn shop in vegas, right next to the golden nugget. old time vegas—a classic time–my grandparents knew everyone in town, and we loved dressing up, and going to the various shows in all the elegant hotels. as a young girl, i was in awe of the lights, connection, and the fact that in the middle of the desert was this isle of fantasy and fun for people of all ages.

my next pearls were from dogeared—we love to use pearls, as their significance is so powerful.  specks of sand that become a rare thing of beauty.  a metamorphosis that speaks to all of us as we grow, learn, stretch, and flow. pearls represent all of that.  we have done hundreds of pearl designs, and my favorite is still the pearls of… a single pearl on a chain that works for every occasion and everywhere i go.  it’s a best-seller, and i understand why.  there is an ease to this pearl necklace–its beautiful design, with a classic timelessness.  it’s ageless.

my next pearls came from my husband—a cultured pearl necklace, put in a baggie in a berry pie, in a coffee shop in west los angeles. we had done a nonprofit event, with one voice during the holidays and my husband, merlin snuck a pearl necklace into the pie and had the server, serve it to me. i cut in, and there it was. gorgeous, and sooo meaningful, as i had mentioned a pearl strand to him in passing conversation, and he made it happen. powerful pearls and the story behind them. something for me to hand to my daughter when the time is right.

what’s your pearl story?
