“What do the holidays mean to me?  Celebration, friends and family, yummy food and great wine.  It’s also a time to stay grounded.  There’s always lots of music, singing and dancing, and I LOVE picking out ornaments, lighting the candles and decorating the tree!  Then there’s fondue on Christmas Eve with many, many people at our house, and lasagna on Christmas Day (thanks to Merlin’s Italian roots!).  Above all, it’s a time for being grateful and giving back.  I love the holidays!!!”

Dogeared teamed up with The American Red Cross “Holiday Mail for Heroes” program. Today, our staff sent lots of love and gratitude to active service members around the world. This year, American Red Cross is doing something really cool by expanding their program to social media users, creating a easy way to participate:

“This year, we’re expanding the ways you can participate in this terrific program. If you’re an Instagram, Vine, or general Twitter user, you can tag photos or video messages with the #HolidayMail hashtag and we will be able to display these on our blog so service members across the country and around the world will be able to see your cheery holiday message!”
